Winter Retreat in the City
During January and February this winter the Milwaukee Shambhala Center will depart from the regular class schedule to allow us to reconnect and gather together in the deepest and simplest way we know – through practice. Similar to the Yarne retreat held periodically at many Buddhist monasteries, this is the period of time during the rainy season when regular activities are suspended and the emphasis is on community practice where teachers, students and friends practice together. So Tuesdays will not be vacant, but will instead emphasize group practice, with guided meditation, contemplations and readings from our lineage holders. Our regular classes, based on our excellent new curriculum will resume in March. We look forward to practicing with all of you as a community to provide a fresh, fertile ground to start the new year!
Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday meditation sessions are being held
at their regularly scheduled times.
